Brig. Gen. Gerald V. Goodfellow is the Director of Strategic Plans, Programs and Requirements, Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. He is responsible for strategic planning, establishing requirements and programming advocacy for the nation's Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile force, B-1, B-2 and B-52 bombers, UH-1N helicopters, the E-4B National Airborne Operations Center Aircraft and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications systems, with a budget exceeding $13.5 billion. Encompassing more than 33,700 people, Air Force Global Strike Command provides combatant commanders with combat-ready forces to conduct strategic nuclear and global strike operations.
Brig. Gen. Goodfellow earned his commission in 1989 from the University of New Mexico’s Air Force ROTC program. He has served as a B-1 instructor and evaluator Weapon Systems Officer, the Chief of the Air Staff Wargaming Branch responsible for executing the Chief of Staff’s annual Title 10 Wargame, a professor at the U.S. Army War College, the commander of a B-1 Operations Group, vice commander of a B-1 wing, commander of the 12th Flying Training Wing and the commander and commandant of Squadron Officer College. Prior to his current position, he served as the Director of the Nuclear Enterprise at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
